Content integrity

How the study content is made, and how we keep it original, current, and independent.

Free should not mean second-rate, and it should never mean borrowed. Everything on CPA Exam Lab is written from scratch against the primary standards, and we hold every question to a teaching bar that most paid banks do not publish. Here is the standard we hold ourselves to, in plain language.

Every question is original

Lessons, practice questions, worked examples, and simulations are written from the underlying accounting, auditing, tax, and business standards, not copied, adapted, or reverse-engineered from anyone's exam materials or from any commercial review course. Original work cannot infringe someone else's copyright, and it means every item traces back to a primary standard we can point to.

Every answer choice is explained

For each question you get a per-option explanation, why the right answer is right and why each wrong one tempts you, plus an overall explanation that teaches the rule and, for calculations, walks the arithmetic. Understanding why a distractor is wrong is half the battle on this exam.

Aligned to the public Blueprints

Our topic tree is organized to cover the areas in the publicly available AICPA CPA Exam Blueprints, the official specification of what each section tests. We align to those public topic areas; we never reproduce secure exam content or claim access to any non-public version of it.

Fictional companies only

The people and companies in our fact patterns are invented (Kestrel Manufacturing, Lokum Corp, Cesme Holdings, and the like). We do not build scenarios around real businesses or real, identifiable people.

Kept current with the standards

Content reflects what is actually testable now, including SAS 134's separate going-concern reporting, the newer auditing and quality-management standards, and OBBBA tax law on REG and TCP. When a standard changes, we update the lesson, the questions, and the traps together.

Independent, with no ads

CPA Exam Lab is not affiliated with the AICPA, NASBA, or any review course. It shows no advertising, sets no tracking cookies, and sells nothing. Development is funded by Arc & Ledger LLC and voluntary Pay It Forward contributions.

We check this automatically

These are not just promises. An automated integrity check runs before every release: it blocks provenance or derivation claims, keeps real-company brands out of fact patterns, rejects duplicate questions, and requires a real explanation on every answer choice. If a question does not meet the bar, the site does not build.

Found an error, or a concern?

We correct issues quickly. If you spot a mistake, or believe any item should be revised, email [email protected] with the page and the detail. Because every item is authored from primary standards, we can always trace it back to its source.
