Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

The short version

CPA Exam Lab works fully without an account, and by default your study data never leaves your browser. If you choose to sign in (optional, free), we store your email address and your study progress so it can sync across your devices, and nothing else. We show no advertising, set no tracking cookies, and never sell personal information. The only measurement we use is cookieless, aggregate page analytics. Details below.

1. Study data stays in your browser

Everything the site remembers about your studying, quiz history, study progress, streaks, spaced-repetition queues, mock exam results, and trainer stats, is stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage on your own device. Unless you sign in to sync (next section), this data is never transmitted to us. Clearing your browser data permanently erases it, and you can review or delete it any time from the Settings page.

2. Accounts and sync (optional)

You can optionally create a free account to sync progress across devices. If you do, we store: your email address, your name if you sign in with Google, your study progress (the same data described above), and your email notification preferences. Sign-in uses an emailed one-time link or Google sign-in; we never see or store a password. A session cookie (strictly necessary, first-party) keeps you signed in.

We use this data only to operate your account and, if you opt in, to send study reminders you can switch off any time. You can delete your account and all synced data permanently from the account page; deletion takes effect immediately. Transactional email is delivered by Resend on our behalf.

3. Analytics (cookieless)

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate site usage, things like which pages are visited and how fast they load. It is a privacy-first, cookieless service: it sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, does not fingerprint your browser, and does not track you across sites. We see anonymous, aggregate counts only, never a profile of you. Details are in the Cloudflare Web Analytics documentation.

CPA Exam Lab shows no advertising and sets no advertising or tracking cookies.

4. Payments (Stripe)

Voluntary “Pay It Forward” contributions are processed by Stripe on Stripe's own checkout pages. We never see or store your card details. Stripe's handling of your information is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.

5. Hosting and server logs

The site is served as static pages by Cloudflare Pages. Like virtually all web hosts, Cloudflare may process standard technical request data (such as IP address and browser type) for security and performance purposes. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy for details. We do not use this data to identify or profile visitors.

6. Email

If you email us at [email protected], we will use your address only to reply to you. We do not add you to mailing lists or share your address with anyone.

7. Your rights

Without an account we hold no personal data about you, your study data is under your direct control in your browser. With an account, you can delete everything we hold about you instantly from the account page, no email required. If you have any privacy question or request (including under GDPR or CCPA), contact us at [email protected] and we will respond promptly.

8. Children

CPA Exam Lab is a professional exam preparation resource and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change how data is handled, for example, by adding analytics or new ad providers, we will update this page and its “last updated” date. The current version always lives at cpaexamlab.com/privacy.
